pharmacy friends

will and i went on our second date since asher was born (pathetic, i know) last weekend. we had dinner with some friends of mine from pharmacy school. this is a picture of me and carrieann, to whom i give sole credit for getting me through school!

i watch my niece once a week while my sis works, so sometimes she comes with us when we go running. the trouble is, we run past two parks and she always wants to stop and play, so that is all she talks about the whole time. "no, i want to go to the park!" then there is asher. he screams his head off when we try to buckle him in, then once we get going, LOVES it. between the two of them, they keep us entertained. my dad calls asher's fleece outfit his "ewok suit". i had to get a picture of them because they are just so cute bundled in the stroller.

practice makes perfect

so, i want to go back to work part-time, but asher is a bit stubborn and HATES to take a bottle. i'm cracking down though, and am making him take one a day. he mostly chews on it and dribbles milk down his face but we are making a bit of very slow progress. i tried every bottle i could find, and we finally had to order the "breast-bottle". we have had the best luck with that one. today my mom was trying to give him a bottle and she put him on the bed to try it himself. he thought he was so big and liked holding it all by himself. it was super cute! i'm hoping one of these days he will catch on....

the silly sock-eater

when i went to get asher up from his nap the other day, this is what i found: he had pulled both his socks off and was eating one! he also had crazy hair. he usually wakes up so happy and laughs when i go in to get him. what a nice boy!

it was my nephew liam's blessing* on sunday and my sister's brother-in-law snapped this picture of asher and me. i am not sure what we are looking at, but i liked the way the picture turned out.

*for those of you who aren't familiar, here is a description of a baby blessing in our church:

Naming and blessing of babies: Babies are given a special blessing shortly after they are born, in which their names are recorded and they are given words of blessing for their life on earth. This blessing is given by one who holds the priesthood, which in many cases is the infant’s father, or another priesthood holder close to the family. It is usually performed in sacrament meeting on the first Sunday of the month.

my running buddy

i am so happy to be out running again after a long pregnant pause! hahaha. the best part is, my running buddy is my daddy, the guy who got me running in the first place. i ran my first 5k with him and we have big plans for more races this summer. it is fun to get bundled up and go out in the cold to hang out with him, but it will be even more fun when it warms up a bit! on the rare days when the temperature hits the 50's we take asher out in the jogging stroller so he can join in the fun. he is as excited for spring as i am!

i can't belive my baby girl would be two years old! she is the sweetest, most amazing person i know. i am so lucky to be her mommy. i miss her with every ounce of my being, but at the end of every day i am one day closer to being with her again. sending kisses to heaven on butterfly wings until then.....

i was supposed to fill in at jolley's today, but asher woke up with a bad cough! the first of his life, poor baby. lucky for me, will can fill in for me at my fill in job, so he went out to brave the snow and i stayed home with the boy. now, if will could just figure out how to breastfeed, i'd be all set.....
